How Should I Spend My Cash To Get Ready For GW2? - Guild Wars Forums

I've just reinstalled GW for the sole reason that I want to spend the rest of my cash/ectos etc on trying to fill up my Hall of Monuments some more, so that I have some decent achievements etc to take with me to GW2. The thing is, I'm not sure WHICH achievements/titles to go for, which parts of the HoM to try & fill up etc etc, so I'm hoping that you guys can lend me a helping hand. I should say, I don't particularly want to go for Wisdom title because I know I'll end up having to sell all the mods/decent golds I get (to players) from buying all the Unids, and tbh I can't really be bothered with that. Yes I COULD merch all the golds once I unid them, but I'll be left wondering whether I could have made MORE by selling them to players.

I have included some screenshots below of all the things I currently have in my HoM, my titles & my wealth etc. This is so that you guys can make a better decision on what I should spend the rest of my wealth on and WHAT to spend it on to get my HoM ready for GW2. I'd really appreciate it very much.

No one knows what benefits you'll get in GW2 from your HoM. No one knows what parts of you HoM will get you what benefits. So, other than "filling" your HoM with everything you can so you cover all bases, no one can answer your question.

We do know 2 things that may help you decide...

1. Whatever "benefit" you get in GW2 will be only cosmetic. That is, a special title, or special skins.
2. GW1 will still be online after GW2. Afaik, there will be some period of time during which you can still put things in you GW1 HoM after you start GW2. I don't know how long that would be. Could be short.

Spend it all on Drunkard and Sweet Tooth titles. Then sit wasting your life hitting booze every 3 mins. Then reap the amazing rewards you will most deffinately get in GW2.

or y'know make your Characters look pretty.

I just basically wanted to know what you feel would be the quickest way of adding things to my HoM, and WHICH kind of things to add? I don't really want to play any more missions etc, as I'm bored of the game at the moment considering I've been playing it for years, so maybe a Title that I could just BUY as opposed to grind would be a good choice. Also, I wanted to try & sell my ectos etc NOW as opposed to when GW2 comes out, because I can see Ecto prices plumetting due to low demand when that time comes.

The armour point is pretty decent though, I'll probably go for that.

Just for the record though, I know it's purely cosmetic & won't actually bring any skill bonuses etc in GW2.

You can buy vanq's and mission runs if you want to do that. Sweet Tooth, Party Animal, even buying un-ID'd golds is doable.

imo id finish your skill hunter titles

then while the event is going on buy yourself 10k alcohol for 1 mil gold

im currently working on sweet tooth, drunkard and wisdom title (for titles im paying for) and i have to say, wisdom title dont cost as much as you may think. maybe not be lazy and start a thread on guru with your perfect mods/good weapons you get while iding?

also buy up all the cheap 1st n 2nd year minipets to fill the HoM

There are only four titles you can buy: Wisdom, Party Animal, Sweet Tooth, and Drunkard. Since you've already ruled out Wisdom, what is so hard about deciding among the other three for yourself? What is your definition of "good"? How can we answer this if we don't know what, if anything, those particular titles will get you in GW2? Or perhaps just having the max number of displayable statues on the monument is enough for whatever benefit we get.

There are other titles you can't buy and take time to get, but which are not a "grind". Look at the achievement titles: Protector, Guardian, Vanquisher, Skill Hunter, Cartographer. All of these are "good" if you don't like grind but do enjoy playing the game.

You could buy one of each destroyer weapon to put into your HoM. That only requires one run to Slaver's Exile if you take all the cash and mats with you.

You could buy one of each mini-pet you don't have.

You have enough cash there to buy drunkard and sweet tooth, If you want to be able to do more with the money, I'd advise against party animal.

However, if you like tormented weps, you also have enough there to buy all 11 tormented weps and put them in the HoM.

But if you're serious about getting some more max titles, do things like CoF to max delver, spend some on legendary skill hunter, and get legendary guardian. doing any two of those would put you at over 10 max titles, and you only need to spend on skill hunter.

EDIT: I hope you know we may not see gw2 for another 2+ years at the rate they're disseminating info about it.

You can fill your mini pet monument quite fast and cheap. Just get the white and purple year 1 & 2 minis and maybe a few others.
Like others already said: go for skill hunter titles. Tyria might be a little annoying but Cantha and Elona are easy and fast. Then maybe Sweet Tooth. Atm it will cost you 1-1.5 million.

The Lucky Title track only needs to be at level 2 to display it, and you are very close. In February the Nine rings should be back and for a very little amount of money you should be able to get to lvl 2 as you are already pretty close. Other than that, I would also suggest getting your mini pets full this can either be very cheap or very expesnive depending on how you go about it.

Uve gotten all the destroyer weapons so get 2 40k armors (eotn ones, or ancient) and get 16 cheap minipets to max out those monuments. Fellowship is maxed out enough for now, but if you want to get more pets and hero armors go for it. Finally with the rest of your money buy cap sigs and the drunkard and sweet tooth titles. That should pretty much make you broke (Drunkard = 1 mill, sweet tooth ~ 1.33 mill) and just slowly do the rest of the titles. Eventually through xunlai every month you can probably get party hunter and then theres nothing left which doesnt take insane time/money (kurz/lux/treasure/wisdom/unlucky/lucky). Oh whilst doing the title carry picks with you to increase lucky/unlucky to r2 to add that 2 the HoM
